Pre-Christmas get-together of Kolowrat forestry employees
The highland Hotel Kolowrat in Přimda was the venue for the traditional pre-Christmas get-together of Kolowrat forestry employees. They were welcomed by Maximilian Alexander Kolowrat-Krakowsky, along with his mother, JUDr. Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowsky.
Everyone took part in a look back over the forestry management of the past year, the activities undertaken in the respective forestry sections, but also talked about the joys and frustrations that go with forestry work. One cause for concern is last year’s long-running drought, which damages the planted saplings of forest tree species and compounds the harm done by insects that bore beneath the bark.
After the review, the Kolowrat-Krakowsky family personally thanked Mr Vladimír Šístka, the head woodsman of the Kolowrat forests, for his many years of successful cooperation and handed him a Commemorative Medallion of notable members of the family line. The medalllions are made in cooperation with the Czech Mint, in silver and gold, and will be put on the market in the coming year. Part of the proceeds from sales will go to support the charitable activities of the Kolowrátek Endowment Fund.
Last but not least, Kolowrat forests wish all visitors who shall venture into our beautiful part of the Bohemian Forest in 2016, that they may in pristine natural surroundings rejuvenate their minds and bodies and keep well throughout the year.
