Tree Nursery
The forest administatration has its own tree nursery for the purpose of securing good planting material. They grow between 300,000 and 500,000 seeds and seedlings, mainly of spruce and pine, in a 6 hectare tree nursery. They also plant beech trees and fir trees, which means that, in terms of planting material, the forest administration is practically self-sufficient. Any surplus is offered to the owners of the neighbouring forests (mostly the municipalities) in the region.
