November Meeting of the Board of Directors

Members of the board of directors of Kolowratek went through all the applications received. The board of directors will decide on the projects no later than January 2013.

The main mission of Kolowratek is to support talented children and teenagers. We traditionally support the international music festival Young Prague and the Alfred Radok Awards. Considering the family history, we also support people dealing with difficult social or health situations. We regularly cooperate with the Paraple Centre and the Children’s home Tachov

The biggest project of Kolowratek in 2012 was a public collection on behalf of Jaroslav Sadovský.

We’ve managed to collect CZK 800.000, and we are now helping his parents to arrange the medical procedure. The first steps towards our goal have already been taken. The medical records of Jaroslav Sadovský are already in the hands of specialists from the Vinohrady teaching Hospital. Together with doctors from the Plastic Surgery Clinic we are aiming for the possibility of performing the surgery in the Czech Republic, as it would be much easier for Jaroušek, if nothing else, because of the language barrier. A significant part of the public collection could be also used for the subsequent treatment and rehabilitation of the 9-year-old boy. Jaroušek is going to undergo his first pre-operative assessment soon. We will keep you informed of further developments.
