Kolowrat Equestrian Club and Kolowrátek supported para-equestrian riders
The Czech National Para-equestrian Championship reached its peak on Sunday, October 6th in Hradištko u Sadsk, with Anastasja Vištalová eventually triumphing. The final ceremony for the best riders was also an opportunity for charitable activities.
The endowment Fund of Maximilian, Francesca and Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowský under the name Kolowrátek in cooperation with Kolowrat Equestrian Club donated 10.000 CZK to para-equestrian riders through the civic association Klub Kvitek to support their sporting activities. The symbolic cheque was handed over in person by JUDr .Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowská. to the representative of Klub Kvitek, Jana Zenklová.
„We decided to support challenged riders during the Czech Equestrian Federation Gala Evening held at the beginning of this year in Radiopalác, where the young rider Lukáš Hnát won the prize „Against all odds“. The Kolowrat Equestrian Club has been supporting young riders for several years, especially in show jumping, but para-equestrian sport won our interest due to the great commitment of riders, who have found their way to horses against all odds,“ JUDr. Dominika Kolowrat-Krakowská explained. „The Czech National Para-equestrian Championship participants and their performances literally amazed me. Some of them presented their horses so well that they could compete with any rider without any challenges. It is great that such events can take place, even though the sporting results are far less important in this case. You can see that the riders wish each other success and the enthusiasm is created through participation itself and time spent around horses. I am determined that the Kolowrat-Krakowský family will support para-equestrian sport for a long time to come and we hope our representatives one day make it to the Paralympic games,“ she added.
And how was the championship? Anastasja Vištalová, mentioned earlier, dominated the competition with a margin of 2,6%. Success at this championship compensated a little for the European Championships this year, in which she was supposed to participate at the end of August. But a knee injury after falling at training stopped her. „I was really gutted that I could not leave for Herning in the end. I am really happy that I at least managed to recover as well as possible before the national championships, where we did very well,“ she said, after competing the whole time with a brace on her leg.
Second place went to Lukáš Hnát, even though in the open competition group 1A German representative Silvie Logemann, riding Rothana had a higher percentage score. In the final freestyle to music she received a score exactly one percent higher than our promising rider who is still a junior by age. He received 62,58% with his horse Mon Aer. Third place went to the multiple national champion in Group III with his horse Lilie. „I am definitely not disappointed, I cannot win every year,“ he said, smiling. In Group IV the winner was Dana Kiliánová on Fram 4. But in the battle for championship medals she finished sixth, after Zuzana Fialová in fifth place and Jiří Giogas with Figaro in fourth place. He lost the opportunity to place in the medals in Freestyle to music because he repeatedly showed a flying change instead of a simple change of leg in canter.
Several new riders made their debut in the Para-equestrian Championships. The award for the best beginner rider went to Jarmila Plháková. She and her horse Klaus competed in Zuzana´s Prize, which is a competition for beginner riders or non-classifiable riders. Jarmila finished second, just behind the experienced Helena Kratochvílová with her horse Orchidej. The organizer´s award for biggest inprovement in performance went to Kateřina Lesová and Viola 9. The best rider of the event was the German rider Martina Benzinger with Fair Lady. Even though she has been competing for only a short time, she gave very inspirational performances, for which she received scores over 68% in both Saturday´s tests and in Sunday´s Freestyle event 71,58%. Czech TV will broadcast a programme covering the most important moments on CT Sport on Wednesday, 9th of October at 7:05PM and then with three repeats.
