The Sasha Kolowrat Rally 2015
In June this year the town of Přimda was once again filled with classic car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Now in its fifteenth year, this was the venue of the popular international rally of historical vehicles, organized in honour of Alexander, Count Kolowrat-Krakowsky, the car and motorcycle racing driver.
In beautiful weather, there certainly was a lot to see! According to Mr Antonín Hofmeister, the director of the organizers, the Auto moto veteran club Český les, the parade was attended by seventy five vehicles, of which twenty three motorcycles and sixteen cars were built before 1945 as well as thirty six convertibles (the youngest dating from 1975).
The fine atmosphere of the rally is beyond description, but hopefully a selection of photographs and points of interest can give an outline:
- The oldest car was a Ford Model A from 1928 and the oldest motorcycle an ITAR 750 made in 1924
- The participant who had made the longest trip to be there was Mr Helmut Gartner, who came all the way from Schuchtern by Fulda
- The most venerable among the “Škoda” cars was a Skoda 633, from 1934, owned by Mr Josef Miška from Horšovský Týn
- The full route measured around one hundred kilometers.
The Sasha Kolowrat´s rally was held, as is traditional, under the patronage of the Kolowrat-Krakowsky family.who also expresses their support by their participation at each event. This year was no different. Waving off the start of the veteran rally was Maximilian Alexander Kolowrat-Krakowsky.
